The return of the classic analog synthesiser with Korg’s ARP Odyssey. The company, ARP, was founded in 1969 with the ARP 2500 being the first synthesiser to be developed. This was a large modular synthesiser with matrix switches replacing the traditional patch cords found on previous modular synths. The 2500 was used on the film ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’ and was followed in 1971 by the 2600.
